Got a 4 ft. moccasin down by the lake this morning with my Ruger Single-Six 22 magnum. Going after hogs next month. More fun. They'll run your *** down and **** you up!

Our rifle season starts on Monday but we have to have 3 points at least on one side.

Our deer here are more like large dogs. The hogs, by and large, outweigh them!

we were out trying to bag that moose, but its gots to be 50"+ or 3 brow tines to be a keeper and the best we saw was close to 50...but why risk the big fat fine, so he lives to see another day...or season for that matter, guess we'll have to wait for the spring bear hunt.......

lots of small deer around here, a big deer is usually arond 150 lbs....i haven't hunted in a few years, my dad just killed a nice 8 point night before last, and we have about 9 mounts in the living room, 1 10 point, like 3 8's, one big 4, and the rest are like his first deer, and mine, small ones, heres some pics, first one is the one from the other night and the rest are the mounts, the taxidermist loves us...

I did a lot of killing over my thanksgiving break. Killed 2 coyotes on wednesday. Went phesant hunting on saturday, our group got about 15 birds. Sat night I killed another coyote. Sparky a ruger single six huh? I love those guns, and if you have the right year, it is worth a lot too. My step dad owns a gun store and bought one off the street for 100, turned around and sold it for 250! I have a ruger MKII .22 pistol, a remington 700 in .223 with a leopold 3x9 scope. A ruger 10/22 with a green mountian barrel and a laminated thumbhole stock, it also has a leupold 3x9 on it. Got me 2 shotguns a Benelli M-1 Super 90 with a 28" barrel and a 3 round mag extention and my turkey gun, a remington 870. (first one i ever bought)

Post up what yall are using to do your hunting

10/22 for plinking, Colt 1911 Combat Commander for self defense, For deer I like to be a little primitive. PSE Thunder flite Express compound bow or my old faithful Thompsom/Center Hawken in .50 caliber. I've had that gun for almost 25 years and have taken a lot of deer with it. I have a couple other center fire rifles and shotguns but they mostly stay in the closet.

I wasn't gonna mention my hand-me-down re-curve 'til I saw Mike's fifty.

Real men draw 60 lb. re-curves don't they Mike?

I don't get to hunt as much as I used to.But I went rabbit hunting Thanksgiving day with some of my cousins down behind my uncles farm and killed two.He has 40 acres of mostly wooded area that is great to hunt on.I have a few guns but for my birthday my wife and dad both went in on together to buy me a 12 guage BENELLI M1 tactical shotgun. Its the nicest shotgun ive ever owned.Real easy and accurate to shoot. It will also be used for personal protection lol. Here is a pic of one just like mine.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=152&stc=1

max, how do you like your m1? I have owned mine for over a year, and i love the out of the box accuracy you get with them. Althought I dont own the tac. version, it is the same gun. What you need to do is go to your local benelli dealer (or i can refeer you to a really good one!!!) and get a mag extention. 3 more shells for like 70 bux, cant beat it!!!

Thats why im always broke, cuz im always buying new **** guns to hunt with!!

Hey Sparky I've got a long bow my dad handed down to me that he got back in the '40's. To much draw to hold for me to hunt with but it's fun to shoot. I can't hit much with it though.

well i havent gone hunting lately but when i was about 16 or 17 i went out with my grandpa and we stood in his deer blind for about 4 hours. we finally saw a nice sized 10 point buck with a beautiful spread(lol that sounds so wrong). i bagged him with my single shot 20 guage with a spread shot shell. that was also the first day i learned how to clean and dress a deer. i had a blast. whoever owns the benelli M1 that is a nice gun. the army rangers use a similar one for breaching doors and such.

yeah field dressing is now fun but best way to go about it...my dad's friend said some guys he hunted with down south in texas don't know how to field dress deer....i guess most people in the south just drag it out the way it is and let the processer gut it....
