I might be in the wrong group, but the info I have seen here so far has been helpful. I am in the process of dropping a 350/700R4 in my 1983 Jimmy 4x4. The way I see it is performance is performance, whether 2wd or 4wd. My ultimate goal is to do a SFA swap next summer and add 6 inches of lift. I currently have a 3 inch body lift.
Right on. Hello and welcome.

Your plans sound awesome. welcome so the site.
Sounds like a great plan! Have you decided on leaf springs vs. coils or what front axle to use? If you use a Reverse Cut Dana 30 from an '87 - '95 Jeep Wrangler, the pinion yoke and transfer case yokes are the same and steering is a direct bolt on.
I'm going SFA too, but it a different way... putting an S10 body on a K5 frame.

Thank you for the warm welcome. And thanks Tink for the info, at this time I have not thought too much about it right now just concerned with the V8 swap.
Sounds like you have a great plan. Im with tink on the Cherokee front axle, and as far as the motor goes, dont forget, you need a different oil pan than you would with the 2wd swap.
