I have got a problem! My buddy at work offered me his son's 1990 4dr blazer 4x4 with the 4.3. It has a blown head gasket! I told him I would give him 500 for it and he said okay. My thoughts are would be easier for my V8 swap project, Could use most of the stuff from my 83 jimmy, better condition than the 83. Hmmmm... I am going to take a look at it tonight and of course talk to the wife. We already have 4 vehicles, what's one more right?

Well, I looked at my buddy's blazer. Turns out it is a 94 with all the bells and whistles, but the head gasket is difinitely blown. There is water in the oil and it has not been turned over in over a year, thus seizing the motor. As soon as I get it home (got get rid of the wife's mini-van!), I'll get some before pics taken! I am also thinking about selling my 83 Jimmy to make room and add a little cash to my project fund.

You got it then? Is it the CPI motor? I've been pondering getting one of those myself... that would put us at 8... :D

Anyhow, got pics yet? Made any decisions on getting rid of something?

Yep it is CPI! I am wondering though what type of V8 to use, TBI or TPI. I am going to wait until I get the 94 home and lifted before I sell it. I am keeping my brand new Dayton Timberlines and they won't fit on the stock blazer. My wife's van is going out to her Dad's until we can find an el cheapo trany for it and then trading it for either a Tahoe or Silverado.
As soon as we the get the blazer home I will get some before pics taken.

i would say run the TPI, it takes a little more work but the stock CPI computer with some mods can run the 4l60E and the TPI on the 94's $0D mask
