Main question, does anyone know of someone who swapped a 2.4L twin cam 4 cyl into their trucks. Anybody know how hard it might be?

I was thinkin of gettin a 94-95 s-10 2.2 5 speed (odb1 FTW) taking out the 2.2, and building the truck back up to showroom condition overtime with a 2.4L turbo swap. I could call it the s-24  just a thought, i was thinking about going import because i wanted something DOHC and boosted, but i still cant turn my back on the good old s-dimes. Thus far, i cant find any info on ANYBODY whose done this swap, so uniqueness (what i like) is definatly a factor here.
and i know the 2.4L is FWD,but i was wondering if it were possible with a bellhousing adapter and some custom mounts?

Anybody got any info/suggestions/advice on this swap?

Nothins set in stone yet, I dont even have a truck to tinker with

It would be a really cool swap, problem is the 2.2 is a FWD engine. Setting it longitudinal would require a RWD trans to be mated to it. But, as I said, it would be an awesome swap as those motors are capable of putting up some pretty big numbers.

actually its a fwd engine as well as a rwd engine cause my truck is a 2000 with a 2.2 rwd

My misprint. I meant the 2.4 EcoTec and stated 2.2.

BUT, was at Pontiac today (more warranty issues with the GTO) and noticed the new Solstice is a 2.4 Eco RWD. More news as I get it.

as far as i know the 2.2l and the 2.4l are the same. the only thing that is different is the internals. and i was going to be doing the same thing you are thining of doing here over a year period cause i got a 2.4l block.

update:

after talking to some people i have been informed that while the 2.4 built can handle decent power via boost, the will not last that long

If your looking to push around 300+Hp on boosted applications, go for a 2.2 Ecotec swap (DOHC) They respond VERY well to boost, theyre cheap as hell to build and theyll last forever.

seriously, an aftermarket head for the 2.4 is like $1300 simple port and polished head with valve job and cams on a 2.2 eco costs half that.
