If your going to spend that kinda money, I would seriously recomend going to a V-8 5spd. std combo. I say this because the 3.4 will always be working harder to move your truck. With a mild 350ci. and a light right foot you could get nearly the same milage as the 3.4L. With tonnes moe power and torque:3gears:

I will say I'm biased to V8's in S trucks. Once you drive one you won't go back.

Sounds like you're on the right track. Basically, you get a 3.4 long block and bolt all your externals (manifolds, etc.) on and drive. A custom chip would optimize the combo but isn't necessary.

A very easy, rewarding swap. HP goes from like 110 to 145-155 depending on what you do.

thanks for the info..just a couple more questions another website i was on said i need a differant flywheel than the one that comes with the crate motor because it is to thick for my bell housing but my stock flywheel wont work because it is supposed to be externally counter ballanced and the 3.4 flywheel has a zero balance.Have you heard anything about that??And also i read that i could use my stock tbi and swap in the injectors from a 4.3 would help me fuel the 3.4 without useing a custom chip...but thanks for the info and if you or anyone else can help me with thesse questions that would be great camron
