ball joints

i have go to the dealer to price ball joints and they said it was $60 each one and i went to auto zone and they told me like $20. but the dealer told me since my truck is an extreme i can only buy them from the dealer cause autozone does not carry them. is this true or not ?

auto zone carries the right ball joint for you, the dealer is just giving you the run around, plus auto zone normaly has a liftime warentey on there joints

I bought a replacement lower ball joint for my Xtreme Blazer from a local auto parts store and installed it a year ago. It has been working fine ever since. It was a major-brand item from Moog or one of the other reputable manufacturers. I'd avoid that dealer if I was you because they lie to customers! (Or at least that one employee does.)

there's no difference between G body & S series ball joints. the upper & lower control arms are both the same. '82-'03 S10 & '79-'85 G body (also known as metric chassis)
