I think I've fixed my truck for the last time. I think I am going to put it up for sale, collect all the money from my bank and go get something newer. I dont think this truck is going to last me through college. I replaced the radiator, water pump, distributor cap, spark plugs, spark plug wires, heater core, the intake, the exhaust, and several other small bits and pieces, yet it keeps breaking down on me, nearly every week. Does anyone else experience all these problems? I know its just the age of the truck but.. 189,000 miles? time to go? i dont know havent totally decided but who knows?

What year is it? What kind of engine do you have in it?

I think you have fixed it for the last time too. It doesn't look like there's anything left to replace!

Sometimes you just get to that ultimate repair decision... jacking up the radiator cap and driving a new truck under it.

Good Luck!

its a 1993 4.3 CPI, it was rebuilt 95,000 miles ago with almost all brand new components (inside), nothing special just new stock stuff. It was done by the previous owner who races at the mud track in Kansas in the super mod class so he knows what hes doin.

sad thing is, theres a truck that I want for $3,500, but its a 1967 chevy, and i dont know if i can go that old because i really hate all the problems that im having now. The only plus side is that it has a newer 327 engine, only 42,000 miles on it so I dont know Ill have to look into it more but if anyone knows of a good truck or ... car... for sale under 5 grand then tell me. Thanks in advance.

Part of it is the age of the truck... we've got 209K on the 4wd Blazer and have replaced much of the same things... at this point we have little things that go wrong (ignition module) here and there, but really feel like we know the truck and everything about it, so we wouldn't want to get rid of it and 'start over fresh' with a whole new set of probelms.

The 67 Chevy pickup sounds super nice, (I'm partial.. I have a 69).. but you have to think about other stuff with those... gas guzzlers... sometimes carb problems, front drum brakes (if it hasn't been changed), sometimes hard to find parts...
