starting problems

i have 2 trucks with starting issues.

the 84 - 2.8 carb - go to start and have to turn over quite a bit before will fire up. Then after running a while and i shut off then will not start again till cools down. Changed everything, except fuel filters and pump which are next. But if I shoot carb cleaner down then starts right up.

the 86 - 2.8 fuel injection - virtually the same issue starting but after running will start with no problems.

opinnions or suggestions appreciated.

I have done a forum search but nothing seem right.

Fuel pressure test for both. Makes it an easy decision to invest in a fuel pressure tester when you need it for two vehicles.

that is the plan... Just haven't picked it up yet. The tester i mean... Keep'm' comin.
