Ok heres the thing, i am wanting to put 18X8.5s in the front and 18X9s in the back but I am worried about the fronts rubbing every time i turn. And If they will work, would i still be able to do a 3 4 drop w/o rubbing?

I've got 17x9 vette rims up front.. they don't rub. As far as rubbing when you drop your truck.. they just might, but hopefully if you have proper backspacing, tire height won't be a problem.

the back spacing and offset will be the big key in them not rubbing

You should lower the truck BEFORE buying wheels and tires. That way you will know what will fit on the lowered vehicle before you shell out big bucks. And, like was stated above, backspacing and offset can be used to your advantage.

What exactly is backspacing? I always hear people talking bout it but ive never quite understood what it is? For my truck, how much is too much.
In the november issue of minitruckin mag thier is a write up about wheel offset and backspacing. If you cant get the mag, when i have time i will post some of it.
