As always, I was the only truck to compete in yet another event. This was my first time racing on a banked track and it was a blast. I usually race in the SCCA solo II and actually missed a race in order to try this track for the 1st time. Although missing the other race hurt my points standing, it was still worth it.

The video below showcases the track, but not my best run....unfortunetly I only got one run on video, and I also appologize for the video quality since its off my Sony Cybershot Digital Camera.

Most races in the SCCA are in the 40-45 second range, but this one was 70-72 seconds and put on by the SVT Cobra club....it was much longer and much faster. I hit about 67 MPH on the last straightaway before the last turn. For the part it much more fun than flat cornering and I hope to do it again next time the track is used for autocrossing. BTW, my best time was 70.19 seconds (video is 71 I think) and the best car, a 05 C5 Z06 with a beast 383 stroker ran the course in 58.xxx which was freaking blazing. I think I ended up beating 6 or 7 cars - mainly stangs.

Let me know what you think.

I came in 25th our of 35. It was put on by the SVT Cobra club and I was the only truck. Considering I beat 10 cars I was happy. Let me find a link to the other cars that competed.....deffinetly a tough crowd though. The previous SCCA Solo II event I competed in, I am in 4th out of 19 in the Novice class!

Very Cool! That looks like fun. I've been checking into that in my area and hope to watch an event in October in preparation for running some myself next year.

Cheap - I want some adjustable QA1s which are expensive, but before then I need a gaylord tonneau $$$$$, my nitrous all buttoned up $$, and a programmer $$$.

Believe it or not, the bilsteins are still working great and the curent ride offers lots of confidence and feeback in the corners. If I felt they were complete junk at this point, I would have already gotten ride of them. The polyurethane bushing on the sway bars helped a good amount, as did the tires.

Nice. Now I'm all wound up. I don't drive my truck anymore because I carpool with my wife, so now I need to go run around the twisty lake road near home. Cool vid too.
