Hey guys, been having a problem w/ non-starting/flooding when trying to start my blazer on wet days. Found that the ear on the distributer up against the firewal has a crack. Obviously the moisture getting in through the crack is the problem. Anyone seen this before? Have a good fix, or maybe a stock distributer for sale cheap???

if you don't want to buy a new distributor you could always use some rtv to seal up the crack and prevent mostiure from getting in there
I agree, give that a try and see if it helps. If not, I have a stock distributer from my truck laying around that I don't need. What year Blazer?

But wouldnt the sealant keep in the moisture thats already in there?

yea if he put the sealent on when it was very humid out, but the best way to put it on would be with the cap off to he should be able to get the mostiure out then before he puts it back together
I know one of mine is cracked. I was thinking about putting some kind of metal brace under the distributor to screw into to hold the cap down. Mine hasn't been giving me problems though, the back screw just doesn't grab.

A lot of the later models have the low-side A/C line running across the top of the cap on the firewall. w/o insulation it will drip condensate on top of the cap. There's a bulletin that addresses this. See if I can find it.
Also, the cowl to hood seal is VERY important in this area. Make sure it's sealing good.
