Welp, took the plunge. I am now an official owner of a dime truck. :)

Needs lots of work, but the engine and tranny seem solid. Only has 121k on it. Checked the mileage riding back on the interstate doing about 70 avg. Said I got almost 24mpg. So it must be tight.

Sigh, Now I need to find somewheres I can fix the cracked door handles.

Anyways, I did it. hehe

24mpg at 70mph in a 91? Excelent.

LMC truck has you covered for the door handles, call and order a free catalog.

Welcome to the club.

Thanks :)

Yeh, the cracked door handles are like a security measure lol

Shakes a bit at that speed, but I figure, it's the tires and alignment.

Need to get me a 5th spare stock rim that came on the truck. They are the black 15inch ones.

Only thing I found puzzling is the backup lights; one comes on briefly and goes out, the other not at all, but all the other lites work.

Cant wait to get started on it.

The backup light switch is most likely faulty, not making good contact. Try holding the shift lever where the light will come on. I had to do this in my truck before I put my shifter in. As for one not coming on, check the bulb first (duh) if not, check the pigtail, they are bad about getting corroded. If that doesnt net any results...guess who has to start chasing wires?

the backup light switch is located on the base of the steering column, i would not bother with the chiltons manual, go online to helmic and buy a factory service manual, there not cheap but they are the best they have every thing you will ever need to know

too late :)

I think u have to be a dealer to get a factory service manual no?

Update on my blazer; I replaced both door handles. Wierd thing about the drivers inside handle not working is; After I undid the locking mechanism, and realized i couldn't just pull it out because of the window track , I saw the mechanism and why it wouldnt open. The inside door handle module was too far back and wasn't fully releasing the latch, so I moved it up, and wahlah!

Then I shampooed the carpet and got that done.

Tons more to do but I got to get on the road tonight and doc appt tues. so...

Helm Inc.

Buy the disc version. Cheaper and a ton less shipping.

I might get one if I can find a good source. That site won't link to selling one for my truck.

Anyways, Sparky, The idle down problem I have; still havent pinpointed what it is. You got any idea? (the MAP is fine btw)
