Gonna get some new tread for my new 91 S-10 Blazer 2dr. Question though: Would 255/60 SR15's be too wide for the stock 15inch rim?
That particular size is almost dead on diameter wise with the 205/75 15's stock.
Suppose I could go 235/70 R15, but Id rather have 60's.
Any suggestions? (I have the stock black rims)

That should be alright. When I had my fullsize, I ran that size tire on the stock 15x7 steelies.
255 is the widest tire you can run on a stock backspaced tire.

Would the front rub?
If I cant use 255/60 r15, Id have to go 235/70 15 cause thats about as close to stock diameter like the 255's

the 235/70 R15 will fit, i had them on my 93, they even rubbed a little in the front, 255's will probley rub pretty good
Yes, I was talking about the rear, the fronts would rub.

hmph. how much would 235/70 15's rub on the front? Id hate to get a new set of tires and they rub. I guess their isn't much room under there for tires?
I think my rims are 15x6.

mine only rubbed a little bit on sharp hard turns, i also had a broken torsen bar mount that caused the front to be a little lower, you should have no problems with the 235's they did come stock on s-10's

Sweet. I think Ill be gettin a set +1 for the truck. I think Im gonna remove the tire bracket on the back, and just put the spare inside on the floor. :)
It's got some rust here and there, so Im gonna have to find some time to get that worked out. Gonna need to order some por-15 for simplicities sake.
Any thoughts?

with rust repair just make sure you cut all the old rust out, por15 is a good product as long as it is not exposed to direct sun light, uv fades it really quick

About the only rust that needs cutting is the back window frame. THe rest is pretty much surface. What does por-15 run these days?

I know it's a little late but I have the 235/55-16's that were stock on my Xtreme.. I put on C4 vette wheels (275's up front 315's in the back). They rub a little in front on sharp turns, I used 2 inch spacers in the front & 3 inch spacers in back. They don't stick outside the wheel wells.

If you go with 255...you'll be rubbing or making less sharp turns to prevent it. I have a '88 GMC S-15 Jimmy 2DR 4WD and the largest I can go with is either a 235/75R15 or 30x9.5R15. I believe its a 15x7 rim, its been awhile since I checked, could be 15x8. and as far as spacers...I dont know about those, havent tried them yet.

Main thing I was worried about is the diameter and matching up with the speedo and highway rpms. I went with 235/60 SR15's, but the speedo is off and more rpms per mph of course.
The next set will prolly be 235/70 SR15's to keep diameter good. Id rather have 60's but o well. Course, be couple years before I change tires again.
