you should have holes in the firewall plugged with rubber where other wires run through, find one that you can get the amp wire through also and that way you can keep it sealed pretty well to prevent leaking

I wasnt really able to find a whole through the wall so I fed it down in the driver fender, slit a small hole in the weather boot, fed it into the truck and siliconed the whole. Havent had any probs and it doesnt get in the way.

Dont do it like that.
There should be a rubber grommet under the passanger side floor mat. Just pull back the carpet and make a little slit and feed it through there.

Personally, i would ONLY fed the wire through the firewall for a nice clean and safe install

i agree with droopy but sometimes it not that easy to find somewhere in the fire wall. but if you have to, you can drill a whole in the firewall and use a UNI-bit to make it big enough, i would never run it through the fender/door area because they look like crap, and ater some time you will pinch the wire

Plus, if you get hit from that side, ur wires most likely toast

just drill a hole under the blower box and use a rubber gromet. it works perfectally

I agree w/ baggedandcaddied. You can get grommets at any good hardware store or parts store. Also get the uni-bit, it'll make your life easier.

i just ran mine thru the frame and up into the floor thru a trim whole on the passenger side...then back to my amp...never had any problems or leaking at all
I cut a small slit in my antenna grommet and ran it thru there. So far so good.

Is it a manual or auto. I install and find it easiest on an auto because where the clutch usually goes through the firewall is a good place to drill and grommet your own holes. Also use of 3M black weatherstrip is a good idea. I have a '03 manual and feel you on the difficulty. Even though Ive done this for many years it was a pain in the a**!! I hace 2 4gague wires running through my own holes to the bottom right corner of the drivers side OE boot assembly. This is a square boot that carries wires from the cabin to the engine bay. Its impossible to access from the engine bay, so youll have to drill from inside. Start with a small bit and peirce the matal( dont shove bit through yet. Now with a light or assistant with a light, place it inside the floor and look for it shining through the engine side. Using another light, look for obstacles and such under the hood. Repeat for additional holes. Once your satisfied with clearance and placement, drill out to size needed. I use a uni-bit for this. you will have to feed the wire through from inside cabin to underhood direction. Tape a small gague feed wire to the power wire and put it through. Solid core orks best as a feeder for stiffness, or a looong zip tie with the end off taped to the power wire. The smaller feeder is easier to manuver the wire through. Hope this helps =)
Mike beat me to it. Where the clutch linkage should go through is a rasied area, drill that and make SURE you grommet wherever you go through. If you dont the insulation will wear through, you will short out, then you will be pissed
