Powered by the acclaimed 6.6L Duramax, this short-box, four-wheel-drive 2500 Silverado hits the road with more than 700 lb.-ft. of torque. The results are impressive and match the heavy-duty character of this Chevrolet.

Intercooler added to turbocharging system
Improved engine breathing with new air box and massive exhaust system
Allison heavy-transmission utilizes reprogrammed shift schedules
A 11.5-inch rear axle assembly handles the additional power from the drivetrain
Grill and hood from the 2500 Silverado HD
Suspension lowered, and custom wheels and tires fill wheel wells
Customfour-piece tonneau cover protects the short box and its cargo while allowing gooseneck trailering with removal of the center panel.
Integrated towing package features a folding mounting ball, brake controller and auxiliary gauges
Custom trim pieces for instrument cluster and doors

To be serious I would take the new GM H.O.Duramax over the 6.0 vortec for my needs and desires. You can get some crazy Torque out of them and even bump the horsepower up quite a bit.And Diesel is a hell of alot cheaper than gas is.

Dont know where you are but down here in NC the diesel is around 2.10-2.30
Gasoline is 1.71-1.89. Diesel has not budged in about 2 months but gasoline is starting to come down.

I meant to say in the long run but didn't.The Duramax is known to be trouble free even after 200k.

I love those duramax trucks. If I had the money, i would want to put a "dirrty-max" in like a 70 3/4 tn. truck.

Yeah saw it on a t.v. show on the speed channel or something. Pretty nice but I would hate to see the sticker price.

Heres a link.
