So I jacked up my 99 S10 4x4 to crank up the torsion bars and noticed that the front wheels barely spin. It takes two hands to get them to spin then they just stop as soon as you let go. I took off the wheels and you had to have a breaker bar to get it to move. Then we jacked up my friends GMC 2500 4x4 with 100,000 more miles on it than mine and the fronts wheels spun freely. Im pretty sure its not the hub bearing or the 4x4 so i think the brakes are dragging really hard. My question is what would cause this and how can i fix it. I don't want to toast my rotors and i think this may be why im getting 13 MPG.
Is it on both sides?
wondering if you have to recompress the calipers (arnt you supposed to do that every time you change em?)
maybe they're sticking?
Someone will chime in & say for sure.

The calipers might be locked up, thats what happened when i had my Explorer

A quick way to find out is to pull the wheel back off & remove the caliper & then try to spin it again. If it doesn't do it that was problably it.. if it's still doing it... put the trans in neutral haha. Good luck.
It is either a sticky caliper or a plugged rubber brake line.
Remove them both and then try to compress the caliper.
Remove the hose from the caliper and try again.
If you feel a change, it is the hose. If not, replace the caliper.
