i want to make exhaust for my 99 S10 4x4 4.3. I want to make it true dual through 2 flowmaster race mufflers then dumped before the rear passanger wheel. My question is will 2.5 be too big for a bone stock V6? or should i go with like 2.25?

Thats a good idea, but personally i wouldnt go any more than 2.25 for true duals, because if the tubing is too big, theyre wont be enough backpressure

Bone stock V6.. 2.25 will be plenty big on the street. Cheaper for the exhaust shop to do for you, too. You could even do 3" single exhaust.. cheaper still & the same power. All you need is the header pipe (goes from the manifolds to the cat) from an Astro w/ the 4.3. It's 2.25 into a single 3" outlet. Just some food for thought.

i have 2.5" on my 2 dr blazer single and it's great...still need to put a tip on it but i have a flowmaster 40 series muffler...good tone and rumble down effect

It's not that you need 2.5", it just sounds better. I run it.

My opinion on back-pressure;

Yeah, it's really a differential pressure equation. But that's too damn complicated for a 10th grade drop-out like me................

Too bad they haven't figured out how to teach common sense in schools yet... I think everything would work out a lot smoother if they could.

Yeah, and now they try legislating common sense. Go figure............

2.25 tubing, and throw an H pipe in there to equalize the pressure. Oughta pull pretty hard
