Did you do any adjustments to your TV cable?
If not, the take your TV cable and pull it in and out hard. Your throttle valve might be stuck shut. Also make sure it didnt get disconnected from your throttle linkage.
If your tranny isnt downshifting properly that means the line pressure is really low, so driving it will burn the clutches in it up REAL FAST.
Oh and also, your truck is supposed to go rich after 70% throttle. It is the computers "performance enrichment mode". Under 70% throttle the computer SHOULD flip flop between lean and slightly rich.
it will shift gears, but it just wont kick down right away when i put my foot in it. i will get into it, but the rpms dont seem to change that much, there will be a large cloud behind me. ****, im confused.

the slight change in rpm is probably the TCC disengaging.Your computer disengages the TCC at certain throttle %'s and speeds. I still want you to do the thing with the TV cable like I said in my last post, and the next thing. Check your fluid and see its level and color.
Tranny fluid goes through 3 stages of destruction i guess you'd say. Its normal color is of course red. The first stage of color change is brown, and this indicates your really due for a tranny service. Next is black, and this color doesnt stay long because the next color follows very quickly. The 3rd stage is gold. If your fluid is gold colored and/or your dip stick has a gold stain, your screwed. When tranny fluid goes gold you can kiss it goodby.
if it is gold you can usually bet it isnt gonna shift right, so let me know what the color is and try jerking hard on that TV cable. If it doesnt work the first few times you try it, try again because it usually takes several times to get it unstuck or unclogged.

One question. Why does your motor blow smoke?
it just runs rich. As far as the tranny fluid goes, it is about 2 years old. I had a complete flush done. This problem started when I removed the injector pod. After fighting with it for 2 weeks, it has a different set of 2.8 injectors. When it starts cold it idles really rough, but when it starts with warm air it is great. I am gonna attribute this to the fact that I have no air cleaner on it right now. (I lost the stud, got one coming on friday, and yes, i do know how bad this is, but I have no other options). I am thinking of just disconnecting the battery for 30 secconds to reset the computer.

Hmmm. Maybe the pintles are sticking or not working properly. No air cleaner shouldnt make it idle like crap either.
You might want to take a good look at your MAP sensor and make sure the vacuum line to that is in 100% condition. You might have damaged it taking thing injector pod off. You might also make sure the color code on the top of the injectors is correct. The 2.8 injectors have a black dot and a white dot in the middle.
For refference yellow/blue is 4.3, green/white is 305, orange/black is 350
would reversing the injector wires make any bit of difference? I dont think it would but hey, anything is a possibility

yeah, the wires coming off the connector should be facing the firewall. Pull the little connectors off and check the color code just to be sure. If you got them at a wrecking yard, there is a good possibility that they gave you the wrong ones.
Also you might want to try watching them with the truck running. At idle you should see a very wide pulse and be able to see the pulsing action ( it is very fast, but visible)and see if they drip. Move the throttle back and forth trying not to over rev the motor. While doing that it should look like a continuous stream and the stream will narrow.
the wires are original. the only thing off of the wrecking yard is the injector pod and the injectos. the hookups are original, and the whole thing is rebuilt with new gaskets and fuel meters and springs from napa and what are the pintles?
