What tire size should I get?

Hi i have a 96' sonoma w/ a 2.2l 5-speed. Im thinking about getting wider tires in the rear but i dont know how much it will affect my performance. I want tires that stick a little bit out of the wheelwell. For the rear im thinking of either 235/65R15 or 255/60R15. Im unsure of what size so could you help me out and om getting new rims for my truck with wider rims in the rear so these wider tires will fit my new rims.

A 235/60 isnt that wide, i think its MAYBE 8" , try a 275 if it will fit.

I've got 315's in the back & they don't stick out of the wheel well. The whole thing is backspacing. If you want the wheels to stick out you need to get wheels with that kind of backspacing.
