alrighty guys, i got my HIDs today but a bigger fish came and took my hook, my service awd light came on and bada-bing my awd stoped engaging, which sucked because my driveway is icy and its got like 9" of snow still coming down....so what order should i go to check this out? my service light is on steady and not blinking so i am wondering if i should just break down and get a code reader? so any thoughts? thanks a bunch for anyone still up.......

Definitely need the code. Once you have that it's only a skip and a jump to a diagnosis.

i just hooked it up and bam.....no codes being stored, whats that about? i am trying to get my truck to get to show a service awd light....or service engine soon, but i drove up and down my street trying to get it to come back....but nothing! so my awd doesn't work but it won't tell me why........i'll post the code when it gives me one

^ I call mine a 2wd ext cab Bravada... haha. Does it still not engage (AWD) even when the light is off? Doesn't sound like that would be good for the transfer case. I'm not too familiar with the AWD setup but am anxious to see what the solution is here.

it has been a day, i took it out yesterday to see and it seems as though the AWD is working but the service AWD light comes back on, i hooked up the code reader to it to see what it would tell me and it comes up with no codes on my vehicle....so that leads me to think is it just something that is warning me of whats to come or is it something small that i have to take care of like replace the fluids...or that something came loose?

but now that i think about it maybe it was just that slippery....but that doesn't explain why i couldn't get my front tires to aid in the traverse of my driveway

be carefull when replacing the fluid. the Transfer case on that requires a special type of fluid I think. It is a viscous coupling unit I believe. so I wouldn't trust any shmoe at jiffy lube to do it.

Viscous coupling is fully self contained. Trans. fluid is used to lubricate chain and bearings.

yea no jiffy lube.....i do that sorta thing by my self, so all seems good right now....lol, but i am going to have my mechanic get the code off there for me...so that way we'll have something to work with.....thanks
