View Full Version : p0147 Where is it at?
My 99 4.3 just threw this code on the way to work. I bought the new sensor just now on dinner. I'm going to be changing it at a buddy's tonight (I have a bit of a drive to get home but he lives close to where I work), but I don't have my service manual with me. Does someone know where this sensor is at in the exhaust line?

What was the code diagnosis--what sensor did you get?
code p0147
bank 1 sensor 3 heater circuit malfunction
I called a few shops and they all were in concensus that it was the last one in the line after the cat converter. I replaced it last night, but I still have to have the code cleared by someone to see if that solved the problem.

If u can afford it i'd get a obd2 code reader than u can check and clear u'r own codes.
I buddied up with one of the guys at an auto parts place this morning before work and he cleared it for me. Even though he wasn't supposed to. I still hold my breath when I start it.....just waiting for the light to come back on. I think you're right..I need to get one of those scanners. As the truck ages it may throw more codes. Guess it's off to the internet to find one at a reasonable price. Thanks !!

Summit has some affordable ones. Might check your local auto parts stores. I see them behind the counter a lot.
Bank 1 is the drivers side bank. Left side o2 sensor.
