Its not that much higher but about 5-10 lbs more than normal when driving and while at idle? Any ideas? Please tell me nothings wrong with my baby

worry about it when it gets low. stock gauges are notorious for being inaccurate

Did you put a new pump in? If not the sender might be going south. FYI a hi-volume pump will be lower at idle and jump up whem RPMs are raised

no new pump, same one thats been in it for thousands of miles

could also be that during winter the oil is colder if the truck is not warmed up fully. i wouldn't worry about it. when the guage goes the other way then you got a problem

what if you gage reading is low?

If your pressure on your oil gets too high 60-80 your lookin at damage to rod bearings. Early in the morning (cold) my truck is steady at 60 (even on hard accelerating) for about 15-20min then sits back at 40 for cruise and 20 for idle. I run 0W30 Severe Duty AMSOIL full synth. check your oil level.

another question what is the normal pressure for idle, cruising, and accelerating?

idle is between 25-40. thats good, when your engine is at 60 its working. when its above 60 its stressing.

so... does this mean im high or low on oil? or what?

well that doesnt mean your low or high on oil, i have been low on oil with high pressure. think of pressure as a measure of your engine stressing. its a metric showing how hard your engine is workin. if it never goes above 60 and never goes below 40 then its a little high but ok. you arent going to feel any power really if your truck isnt pushing 60 anyways. watch your oil pressure in correlation with rpm gauge
