I am going to have a billet stroker crank machined and was wondering the largest stroke a 4.3 block can handle. I am going to call my buddy at a machine shop tommorrow, but I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.

3.75" is the longest the stock block can handle and you still need to machine the sides to clear the extra throw from the crank. GMPP sells blocks that can handle a 4" stroke.

Sounds like your building a monster! What machine shop are you using is it local (in al)?
love to see your truck cruise-ins start in April around Birmingham. I will be bringing out my small blocked 98 every Saturday. Hope to see you there. I have the cruise-in schedule I can email it to you if you need.

I am actually getting strokerkits.com to do the crank. I just bought the heads and would hate to get everything back together and the factory crank break and ruin the heads. So I called strokerkits and they said they will make the crank whatever stroke I want and it should hold 3000 hp, I don't think I will break this crank. I am shooting for around 500 or so horses.

hate to ressurect the dead (old postage) but how much is the rotating assembly costing you? Specifically how much is the crank? And the heads?
