what are the best shocks to buy for a 2000 blazer 2 door for handling performance and trailering performance? are the edelbrock shocks any good?

Edelbrocks are seemingly good pick. Experience with the Bilsteins(OEM on some packages) and the KYB gas-a-just/KYB AGX(adjustable) prove to be good choices too.

I prefer Bilsteins myself.

I like Rancho's. I know they have a name built to be lifted & off road... but I gotta say the ride was really good when I put ranchos on my rods.... I've got Ground Force shocks on my 1/2 ton because they came with the lower kit. I dont think they ride right, I might match up some ranchos by size & length.

If you want adjustable you could go with QA1. They have alot of valaing options and are rebuildable.

Another good choice. QA1 has been in the R&D of great and reliable racing products(shocks, rod ends, etc.) for a while now.If you want adjustable you could go with QA1. They have alot of valaing options and are rebuildable.

Hey I'm not too sure if I need shocks yet or not. The roads for where I drive are crap, potholes and bumps everywhere. The only questions is my ride bumpy just from the road or may I need shocks? I really cant tell.

A few different ways to tell are 1. If you go over a speed bump and there is a defined up-dn motion more than once(at speed bump speeds). 2. If you are experiencing a hard ride and lack of up-dn movement. This is caused by a hardening of the diaphram in some shock valve assemblys. The first is a pressure loss of the gas or fluid-dependent on shock and how its made. Driving fast over bumps, speed-bumps and over rough surfaces in general will reduse the lifespan of shocks. Under normal conditions shocks can last quite a long time.
