No way a TB swap will give you 20 horse.

I know people who have done throttle body instead of carb. and have had better performance. I dont know any detail behind it though.

im just wonderin if it is possible. i know it wont give 20 horses, but it should be some hp gains shouldnt it?

if I took a guess it might be 10-15hp. some people found out that just cleaning what they had improved the performance pretty good

well i think the guy that put the motor in my truck cleaned the tb when he put it on.

It depends on if the engine needs it or not. IE cam, headwork, headers.

Ditto. Stock for stock the 4.3 TBI will drown a 2.8

the 2.8l tbi had 1 3/8" throttle bores and where to the 4.3l had the 1 11/16" throttle bores. so it will give you more airflow and if you run the 4.3l injectors you will get more fuel due to a high flow rate. or oyu could even step up to a tbi unit off a 454 engine they ran the same tbi unit except they had 2 inch throttle bores. but to get a decent gain out of the tbi swap you woudl ahve to have your intake manifold bores machined to match the new tb. you would also have to modify the new tbi unit a little bit to match the 2.8l manifold and the cable position due to the throttle cable being on teh wrong side unless you extend all your sensor wires and can retrofit the cable. (all this information found on s-series.org under 60v6 performance) you coudl alway sjsut buy the 400 cfm tbi unit made by holley for $384 with the 2 inch bores that matches everything jsut need to machine your intake manifold

sorry long post
