hey everyone, im the new guy....
first off ill introduce myself. im lee, and despite my screen name, im quite a nice guy. i chose the screen name because my garage is filles with 8 Fords and a new arrival, this 89 s10. my dad was a ford guy, im a ford guy, but this s10 is just so oddly appealing. so here i am!
my truck is an 89 s10 tahoe with a 4.3, automatic, 2 wheel drive, shortbox, regular cab. despite iowa winters, the truck has a rust free bed and only needs a cab corner patch. the paint is faded, but the engine and transmission were rebuilt about 40,000 miles ago. i use this truck as a winter driver/beater, loaner vheicle, but im thinking of making a few changes... like some bodywork, and some suspension mods....but im keeping it on a very limited budget.
so heres my first question... i noticed no rear sway bar. i want a sway bar. but also, i hope to lower the truck for handling. is there a factory sway bar that will suffice? and if so, can i use it after the truck gets lowered (like 2/3 drop or somethin). if not, what can i use to solve my current query of having a bar now and not having to get another sway bar later?
thanks
lee
