i have an issue with my ABS, one day out of nowhere the ABS and eBrake light came on, then went off. This continued until the ABS was staying on more than it was off, the eBrake light is very infrequent. Currently it will turn off only say once a week under different conditions, and when it is off i have verified that the ABS works (didn't test above 30mph).

i climbed under the passenger side, and found a large chunk of ice, kicked it off, without any evident damage to anything, but i am wondering whether the wiring for the rear ABS sensor and ebrake run together, but the only switch to trow the light for the ebrake is under the dash, right?

so i threw my abs scanner on it (SnapOn that has worked fine on my vehicle before) and it will not detect any ABS module. The interior ABS fuse was not broke but has been replaced, and the accessory/cig lighter fuse is also good.

anyone got any thoughts on this, i do want to retain a working ABS system.

Right--the only e-brake indicator is a grounding single post switch under the dash at the pedal. The brake light would still activate I believe if there was a problem in the basic braking function and the ABS light is solely for malfungtions of the ABS system. I have seen service request pertaining to the ABS light coming on randomly. It could be a intermetent problem at one of the sensors, or just a controller issue. Your braking is probably OK and nothing to worry about. The S-trucks dont have rear ABS to my knowledge but the Crew and Blazers might. Sounds simple but check level of fluid and next time you do a brake job bleed the entire system of old fluid and replace with new. Youd be suprised how much effective the OEM setup is on fresh fluid. Boiling from heat and age take a toll on the fluids dynamic struture. Hope this hels out a little. =)
