i drove my friends little four cylinder, stick shift, eclipse. and it ended up in a lake. i was winding through a neighborhood by a lake around town, and i went off the road and slid through under brush and mud until i hit just water. That'll teach him two things. 1) dont trust anyone, and most of all 2)Buy an american truck that can handle a little water and mud.
Well reading that just taught me they must distribute drivers licenses in cracker jack boxes in Georgia. :D

hahaha, no, im a good driver but when you are shifting and flying through unknown neighborhoods... weellll...... its not good
i did about the same thing once, but it was in a 89 ranger, and i flipped it ass over end twice when it hit the ditch, and i walked away with just a few seat belt bruises and a busted truck.

Did you learn the lesson of not flying through neighborhoods especially if you don't know the streets that well?

There, now that's corrected. I have had a few friends vihicles that I wanted to drive into the nearest lake. One of which was an '84 AMC Renault. That car died in agony.

i kinda have to agree with fireguy on this. a good driver knows the cars limits and knows when its safe to drive fast or when it is better to slow down. also a good driver can handle driving a stick while trying to find his way out of a neighborhood at night.

I am not gona bash anyone on this one. Accidents happen even to an experienced driver. I would never lend my vehicle to anyone anyway and definately not to someone who wants to 'see what it will do' . Ive test driven cars B4 for others and even been instructed to 'get on it' but Ive stayed conservative. Id be wary of 'trying out' a unfamiliar vehicle at night and also on unfamiliar roads and less on both. So whats the guy gonna do about the situation?

I'd hope so, seeing as you sunk his battleship.
well, when we smashed up the ranger it was loose gravel when i slammed a gear, and last i knew that truck was still parked in a barn, i tried to pay to have the thing fixed, i sent the guy a check, and he sent it back with a note saying that it was ok, he wasnt worried about the money, so hey, other than a little soreness, and lesson learned, its all good!
