hey everyone,
figured since ive been around for a lil bit now, id post up my funny story. my roomate and i have a theory, ford trucks are cannibals. mind you, we both have ford trucks...
this started when his dad rear ended a nice 80's f150 into a probe and a lincoln the same day. duh.
then he had a 2wd 91 ranger, and slid it into an uncontrollable skid into the back of an f150. totalled it.
but theres my story. i have my silver 95 f150, 2wd, reg cab shortbox, aptly named Silver. well i was driving home from my girlfriends house, about a mile away from my place, when a light turned from green to red. i locked all 4 up, and slid my silver truck into, you guessed it, a ford. but, my silver truck is like one of those small dogsthat picks fights with big dogs, i ended up hitting a 2005 f650 tow truck. not only that, i hit the BUISNESS end of the tow truck, the part thats solid steel. my truck was drivable home, the insurance dude cut me a check the next day, and i spent 6 straight weeks pouring my heart into that truck. it did get honorable mention at the car show. but, in the words of Jeff Foxworthy, "we just can't have nice things"

I just found this yesterday, it's an '08 Super Duty. Apparently there is a problem with the programming and it dumps too much fuel and it makes it shoot flames...Ford now has a recall

I don't know, this looks kinda rigged to me... even the exhaust tips look like there designed to introduce air into the flame... but the guy told me it does it naturally.

I've got a flame thrower just like it on my silverado ;) But I can control the flames

I smell bull****... I dont think there is anyway for a vehicle to be that bad. no matter what is wrong. The only way for the truck to be like that (including the muffler mod) is for the guy to have the "flame thrower" added to the truck. It takes fuel from the tank and some other stuff involved with the kit. nothing being wrong with the truck.

im calling bs on the flamethrower Ford too. Unless its so bad, it already burned up the muffler, then i just dont see that happening

the ford fireball is actually true, i know a guy that works in ford service and they have a lot of them coming in for reflashes of the computer to stop that

Sorry theenemy, I didn't mean to jack your thread... I just figured the Super Duty went along with the cannibal Fords. I'm sorry to hear about your wreck man...

Ya know, I did some more research on it, check it out... it's a real recall because of the flame thrower exhaust!

I find it funny Fords fix to the flame thrower is to re-write the PCM to lower the horsepower output when the engine warms up.

its cool,
my buddies new powerstroke had an issue with the flamethrowing... it just happened to cook the right fender of his dad's 02 f350

i think its just so amusing, i found out last week, and blew it off till now...

Hmm...why do the SDutys have so many issues? I had a SD in the shop one time and after i got done I started up a hill in the lot and it was creeping. I was like what a ***** truck...I thought these had torque. So I said f**k-it and floored it. Nothing just idled along. I was testing wires and such with the meter and the owner approached. Asked what happened. I told him and he said 'oh its just a fuse' . Apparently there was a recall on the drive-by-wire throttle setup which caused a short and blows the fuse. He said he was truckin down the road one day and it just gave up. He had an appointment in a week to fix it and a bag of 10amp fuses. F**k-that!! Get me another truck in the mean time....week my ass!

Well in the fire industry when there is a car fire we normally assume it's gonna be a Ford.
