Yeah it did suprising enough.I took it to a real good body shop and had them check it over.I was amazed that it was still straight.It just made me appreciate the strength of a S10 even more.The rust on the baby blue parts is just surface rust that formed out in the rain within that past few months.It was just were the paint had chipped of but with no protection against the elements it rusted during that time.There was some rust on the surface of some of the body of the truck I bought but nothing sever or that cant be knocked of with a sander.And since the front end and bed will need to be painted anyway I am gonna change the color of the truck to black.S10 Onyx back to be precise.I miss my S10 badly.I cant stand not having it.Right now I am driving a 97 Ford Contour I got for little to nothing for a daily driver.It gets great gas mileage but I cant stand the car.It has the 24 valve Duratec V6 with a 175hp.The damn thing doesnt redline till almost 7000 RPM.It has **** for torque but it can rev like a son of a *****.I have fun with little ricers in it.It smokes their ass every time lol.But it is still a damn Ford and I still want my S10 back.Hopefully I will have it done in the next month.I got the rear swapped over today.I can't wait to get it ready for a drive.I will update when it gets further along.

Contour and its sister the Mercury Mistake, uh I mean mystique suck ass. My friends wife had one as her first car. I hated riding in that pig. She took care of it but it broke anyway. There was a recall on the hi-current electric fan wiring, so we checked it out one day. All the wires had the insulation dry-rotted and was cracked off. I was suprised it didnt burn down. Ford fixed it out of wty. after the conversation with the lawyer on liability. True it did rev high. Ive driven a couple SVTs with manuals and they are pretty quick. Just overall a POS. BTW, I would go ahead and sand off that hood b4 it gets worse and put some self-etching primer on (2-coats), then a red primer (1 full coat) and finally a primer sealer. For now at least.

Yeah it is a piece of **** of a car but I got it for cheap.And the truck will be took in for paint with in a few weeks.right now I cover it with a huge tarp when I am not working on it.It's keeping it dry.Until then I am stuck driving the Contour.

Well it's rolling now and driving like a charm.Man those 4.10 gears made a HELL of a difference in take of power.And it really doesn't tach much higher at highway speeds.It's still of course 2 different colors and has a cracked windshield but it is running.Man did I miss driving my truck.And now with the 4.10 gears I don't have to have the cherry bomb to add backpressure which caused a loss of torque on the bottom end.So it sounds wicked mean and pulls hella hard.Now I just gotta get it painted and get a windshield.I will post some pics of it tonight.Im just glad to have it rollin.I did miss her lol.

wish i could drive mine, havent been able too sice tranny rebuild much because of my manifold issues, hope its as good as i suspect.

http://www.s10planet.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=2774&stc=1The bed is just held on with two bolts right now.Im hoping to start prepping it for paint this weekend.Im gonna start sanding it down probably Saturday.I just bought some new body tools im itching to try out.I have not done body work since I was in Tech School.So it should be fun.I doubt I will paint it but I have thought about trying it again.I painted 5 vehicles a long long time ago.But who knows anyway I did by the paint.I got the Onyx Black paint code from a late model SS S10 and that's what color it's gonna be.Any thoughts are welcome.

If you are doing the prep why not just paint it yourself? The prep is the pita part. It's coming along pretty quick.

Hahaha...the donor truck is pitiful looking. Poor dime...last bits of glory picked from its hide. So when ru gonna swap out the front glass? The Onyx Black will be pimp. Can you get ahold of any blue pearl to go in it?

My paint guy recommended pearl but I dont think he said blue.I am considering it.And I am considering painting it to.I just dont wanna screw it up.I am decent but not as good as my friend who paints.He his a damn good painter.I have really gotta find some rims.I thought about testing that life time warranty on my rims lmao!!Because what it would cost me to buy one rim to match my old ones I could find a decent set if early ZQ8 rims.I like the way they look on first gens.Oh and yeah the donor looks like a broken down soldier now lol.Im glad I bought it with out the engine.It had a 4 banger and a manual from the factory.But the engine blew and the guy took them out for scrap.My cab is in better shape and newer than the donor to.But the bed on it even before my wreck is in better shape than my original.And it's older than mine by over 5 years.I think it has less mileage though.But im gonna leave the broken windshield in it and just tape over it so when I swap the glass out it will be clean as a whistle.
