oil return line

I just bought an oil cooler earlier today, and when I went to install it, I noticed the hoses included were too short to reach the oil return line, which has been disconnected this whole time( a good 2 hours...). I gave up on the install for tonight, and after re-attaching the oil line, the truck wants to run like ****, and barely turns over, which I have no earthly idea why, because nothing's wrong with any of those components. Any help? Could be due to coolant loss?

did you leave the door of the truck open or do you have under hood lights you may have just drained your battery a little

charge the batt with a charger or jump it and let er' run for a while

Thanks for the help. It turns out it was the battery, and I charged her this afternoon. Running great!
