you could go with a dearched mono leaf setup but i would advise against it cause they can break. As far as shocks got its really up to what you want to spend. Alot of people use the toxic drop shock but they do ride a bit rough. Some people dont run shocks. As far as a brand its going to have to be something like belltech, koni, or someone that deals with drop suspensions.

To start off let me tell you I'm not trying to be a dick or piss anyone off. If you want to be cheap with your suspension you have no right messing with it and should just leave it stock. Running a mono spring w/4" blocks is not only dangerous to you but to others as well. It will make your truck handle very poorly and make panic braking unpredictable to say the least. Going the cheap route will cost more in a short time. Think about it, your pinion angle will change causing premature u-joint wear. Under breaking and acceleration your transmission yoke will pull/push to far causing seal, output shaft and possible internal trans problems. You will also run the risk of breaking springs.
This is one of the many reasons the government is passing laws that affect our hobby!

I understand what you're saying but in his circumstances, he said he was planning on getting it linked asap. I think he would be perfectly fine doing so as long as the current leafs aren't in some way rusted to an extreme extent, etc. I personally have done it this way in the past. You have to realize that before the MiniTruckers had the 4 links, this was the route to take. And if my memory doesn't fail me, there weren't any accidents caused from monoleafin' it. JMO. I had a truck two mon leafed for quite some time and other than riding like ****, there wasn't a much of a difference.
