How hard is it to change the driver side motor mount on a 1993 s 10 4x4
Blazer. Looks like it is a *****... to say the least. anyone have any tricks??????
i had them out during my trany change, there not so bad really, just take the weight of the mount by jackin the engine on the oil pan, remove the center bolt, raise the engine some more, the take out the mounts. on a scale of 1-10 about a 5!

Is drive shaft in the way??
u may have to drop it, mine was out when i pulled the mount, its just 4 small bolts and a snap ring to drop the shaft, when u remove the shaft, grab as close as u can to the transfer case, press in and pull out fast and forcefully, it should come right out.
a pain in the ASS.... on a scale of 1 - 10 it rates an 11. lol
I wouldn't do it without gear wrenches/ratcheting wrenches. Preferably with a flexing head (thats what I used). Would take forever to do it with regular combination wrenches.
I removed the inner wheel well flaps & disconnected my steering shaft & tied it out of the way. Went mainly through the wheel well on the drivers side was able to get a lot done through that way.
While your there. Might also be a good idea to replace the remote oil lines if they leak, or starting to leak. Because you have to remove the mount to get them out anyway. Rockauto.com & gmpartsdirect.com have them
