Hi everyone!
First off, let me give you all a BIG thank you. I stumbled across this site about a week ago and have found out more about my gmc jimmy than in several months of looking. Mind you i was trying to find info specifically on my Jimmy and it wasnt until i said ok... lets go check for info on S-10 that i hit myself in the forehead with a big 'D'oh'!
But i Digress....
Let me start with some info about myself. I've been a Blazer guy since birth. Chevy man Born and raised (Thanks Dad!). Started driving my '76 K-5 when i got my liscence, but by then my family had also stumbled upon the S-10 Blazers - and fell in love with them. Needless to say i loved the K-5 but had WAY more fun driving my folks 4.3 S-10's around heh.
In the family right now we have the following
S-10 Blazer 89 4x4 4.3L (brother)
S-10 Blazer 90 4x4 4.3L (mom)
S-10 Blazer 91 4x4 4.3L (dad)
'05 Trailblazer (cousin)
and several others that have since been retired - may they rust in peace!
Currently i am the proud pappa of a 94 GMC S-15 Jimmy 4x4. It has the 4.3L TBI (149xxx miles) with a GetRag NV3500 5 speed manual. It has the HD Trailering package so i'm stuck with a 3.43 gearing - for now. Other than the gear ratio i had looked for a used one with this drivetrain package causally for about 5 years before stumbling across my dream truck - other than its missing bowtie anyway!
I picked it up for a song with a busted up trans from theft damage and had it rebuilt and put a new clutch and master/slave cylanders. Otherwise i havent done anything major to it 9k miles later - just standard maintence stuff... brake pads/shoes, plugs, wires, pcv valve, cap, rotor, battery, exhaust, shocks.. you get the idea.
I am a maintence freak with my vehicles - again, thanks dad! I'm firmly sold on 2000 mile oil/filter changes, slick 50 treatments, tire pressure checks weekly, changing (now cleaning my new K&N) air filters, etc etc etc etc. With this truck i have gone over to synthetic oils - syncromesch on the trans, synthetic in the block and when the axels get done again those will be synthetic too.
Needless to say after finding you guys, i am VERY excited about what is possible with my baby. I do plan to keep the body mostly stock (can you say... sleeper) but I'm sure you'll see me out in the forums asking questions and working up a formal to-do list so be warned now :P
Anyway, enough about me and on to the pictures :)
