I just noticed that too. I guess Boyd really screwed up by firing Blue Bear. Looks like it created a chain reaction.

I just saw that myself. Charlie was about the only guy that had any clue as to what the heck he was doing. Blue Bear was close (in an inexperienced, cocky sort of way). But Charlie knows his stuff. Maybe now that he's with someone with some vision (Foose) that does things the way they SHOULD be done, we'll see some really cool projects, and not stuff that's just "thrown together."
WOOT!
i hope that duche cant build "hotrods". he doesnt venture out of the box, he does the same thing over and over again. im pissed he is gonna cut up that good looking model t (the bluebear episode is on now on tlc)
i bet none of you noticed that beetle bailey was there too..
humm... i wonder who else left boyd

Please dont look at SICGMTRUCKS posting on disovery channel forums. Could be someone with the force has unloaded a sh*t load of info.
Charley left after the mustang build, he has a new born and Boyd said you work when I need you or leave.
BB is with Circle City Hot Rods allready.
Chip Foose and his brother left Boyds in 98 and shortly after Boyds filed chapter 11.
Jesse James left, and you can see he learned well from Boyd, arrogant do it my way guy. ALso a host of other bigger now builders at one point worked for the EX DISNEY LAND Machinist!
Yes Boyd started his carrier at Disney Land as a machinist and built, er restoed rods on the side. Made deals with other up and coming dreamers and built Boyds hot rods which is now defunct. To restart a new business after a 2 year layoff, the courts and its creditors stated he couldnt use the Boyds name and he made a deal to use the full name. Now with his past credit etc, he cant get good help, has his whole shop on COD etc etc etc. Now Diane has the business end under her COMPLETE control to get her losing back. Mid Life, Gold Digging MILF, etc took Boyd down to the realms of sh*t. Now he makes substandard stuff from rods to wheels trying to rebuild the pocket book nad has no regard to his past name and quality.
Search new articles done about him and the net about him and his wheels, there is a host of info that tells you from the rod people to STAY AWAY FROM BOYDS!!

Someone got my link of another site!!!!!
I knew about charlie. JM posted that a while back, but did yall notice beatle he was color sandeing the suv in one of the last segments of the show. What's up with that.
The rides show was filmed in october the AH ratrod was done in june or july. So somewhere along the line beatle bailey leaves boyd cockinass's shop. I'm now wondering if it's going to be televised and if it's a violent seperation. Ohh the supense is killing me. I still thinck Bluball should have hit boyd.
well after seing the episode, i would have put dwane in his place and hit him square in the frikin mouth after he was a duche and pushed the motor that they had worked so hard on. he is a tough guy until someone gets up in his face. **** napolean syndrome

O.k I have seen people harping on Blue Bear for the last few weeks and biting my tongue. It is know time to set the record straight and give some background on the infamous Blue Bear. What some people dont know about Blue Bear was he was showing up at Boyds shop when he was still in High school, wanting to learn how to build "hot rods" we all gave him the "get the **** out of here kid". He kept showing up, his persistence paid off. Eventually I taught Blue Bear how to Tig weld, fit tubes, make templates, basic fabrication skills. He graduated from high school and started working full time, the kid was actually doing it! Eventually like Blue Bear, Boyd and myself had a difference of opinions I ended up quitting and starting my own shop (circle city hot rods). Blue Bear kept at it and developed a taste for simpler more traditional style cars. (he said my coupe was a big influence). Blue Bear had a car that he bought (the model a) with his own money, and he scavenged and saved for the rest of his parts. Boyd comes along and decides to do the rat rod build-off. And this is were the problems start coming in. Blue Bear has his vision of how he wants to build his car, He has been researching reading the old mags, and paying attention to traditional cars. I dont know about you guys, but when I envision a project that I have been thinking about for years I stick to my vision. Blue Bear didnt want to change his vision, I for one think that is cool. Another thing that you guys dont see is the behind the scenes stuff, You just see the drama that the Discovery guys show you. I am not trying to brag, but I have been building hot rods for a pretty long time now, and I know the difference between an unsafe ****box and a decently built car. Blue Bears car was a pretty nice car. It was probably built better then most of the people that are talking **** on him on this board could build. I also suspect that you guys dont know of all the hours that he put in working for Boyd, not getting a cent of overtime. Or how he was sick of building plastic kit cars. Or how American Hot Rod portrayed him as being the village idiot. Yes, Blue Bear works for me now, I wouldnt hire someone that couldnt do the job or that built unsafe cars. The people that know me on this board know the kind of cars we build, and the quality I expect. I am really pleased with the fact that Blue Bear and I have come full circle, he is now able to build the style of cars he likes, in a better atmosphere. I personally invite any of you to come to my shop anytime to see the real Blue Bear.
Sorry about the rant, but I felt I had to set the record straight.
Jimmy White
P.s. Dont think Blue Bear has some kind of dirt on me, and I have to stick up for him, he is a good kid that just wants to build real hot rods.
apperently this guy owns cc hot rods and also left boyds shop for the same reasons
dude...most of us are blubears side on this, but putting a flathead between unboxed frame rails is unsafe. If he had done a little more research he would have found that actualy ust to plate the frames down the center and/or x and ladder brase them. U''ll see allot of this done to drag cars and salt flat racers from the 50s and 60s.

I disagree with that.If he were using a well built smallblock or something that could make some real power then maybe. But that flathead was in no danger of causing that kind of flex.Besides he took other measures to stiffen the frame instead of boxing it.
The frame blubear was useing was in pretty bad shape. It had been welded too many times and was starting to fatigue. I wouldn't have used it with the original engine that came in that truck.
what do you have aginst flatheads. they have 55-100 hp stock and could drag a house down the street. They'er a powerhouse in the right builders hands. It's no 12 sec engine mainly due to weight, but they are really powerfull engines.

BB had agreed to add a newer c channel within the old frame and gusset it etc. He had allready reinforced the setion the steering box sat with a double plate. Its not like he didnt plan on doing anything and hadnt talked to people outside the shop that build these Rat Rods, merely he just went against Boyd and Boyd was probably gonna lose the contest!
In the begining BB said on camera that you should box a frame on a rod but that wasn't his design. If it was me I wouldn't have changed my design either and I respect BB for standing up for himself.
boyd going behind his back and boxing the frame was definatly wrong and will more than likely have to replase BB's a new frame because it was unarterised work. It's on film. Even the best lawyer couldn't get him out of that. unless with the blisfull ignorance of youth, blubear signed a contract giving the title over to boyd. So i guess it really works out for BB in anyway.
Because of that episode I don't exspect to see boyd next season either. As I understand it discovery is getting a lot of hate mail over it and reconsidering allot of the shows, but that's just rumor. we''ll all see the result next season.
Now back to the subject. I'm glad to see charlie with Foose. It was ashame wasting a talent like that on an out-of-touch designer like boyd and hope to see on some of the overhauling episodes.
