V8 Questions

[Tsunami Blazer]

Have a 1995 Chevy Blazer 4 door 4wd that had a 4.3 CMFI vortec v6 in it. Want to put in a v8 5.3 or 5.7 vortec. Was looking for some useful links and ideas to make this an easier swap. To make sure I get the right conversion parts and books. So I'm not left standing in the wind picking my nose. Any help links and easy ideas to get the ball rolling would be great. Thanks:cool:

Just go through the V8 & other swapping section.. there's more than enough info here if you look around, even just a little.

from what i hear. the swap into a four wheel drive is that hardest most complicated swap out there. best left to the absolute professional. but thats just what i hear

yeah and wacked out exhaust and different motor mounts and less room the motor has to sit higher. and theres alot of other stuff if you look in the jtr s10 v8 swap manual

no.....motor mounts are the same..

I think he's refering to the mounts w/ slots that are higher up because the mount pad on the frame is raised in a blazer application.. but yes, same mounts.

The engine doesnt sit higher, the frame doesnt kick up as high in the front as the trucks do. That's why Blazers have those stupid little pads on the frame to lift the engine up. I know this for a fact because my 4.3 came out of a Blazer and both had the front sheet metal off and were sitting side by side.

thnx hammer head. exactly. i wasnt aware of the pads on the blazers but to an extent i still beleive the swap in a 4wd blazer is harder and more expensive. o and i think you have to get a oil filter relocator also
