View Full Version : 4.3 needed!!
I need a 4.3 non-balance shaft motor. I could definetly do with a short or long block. I spun a bearing, really really spun a bearing or two. I live near cincinnati in ohio.

Well i appreciate the offer but I need something that doesn't need the crank machined. By the way do you know about how much it costs the turn the crank?

I just did an engine rebuild on my 96 4.3. It too had a couple spun bearings. I bought a crank kit from autozone. It came with rod and main bearings for 238.00. Add a complete engine gasket set for 75.00 and all you need is time. It came bored .10 over with bearings to match. I just thought i would let you know what I found. It might be easier on the wallet that a complete motor. Good luck.
Man I really wish I could just go with a rebuild kit and a crank but I took a peek inside the cylinders and also found that one of my piston skirts had completely broken off. I guess when it spun the bearing to a certain tolerance, the play in the rod was enough to let the skirt touch the crank journal a few times to many and it just broke off.

Having the same prob with my vin w 4.3 w/balance shaft. have to get a couple of rods and oil pump as well. Spun two mains and apparently bent the crank. Seems a common deal. mine spun no.1 and no.4

Why is everyone trashing the bottom end on the 4.3's?
