Doesnt matter what diff. There are 2....the 7.5 and the 8.5. But GM put smaller tubes on the 8.5 than is on a full size, so that all the regular axle hardware(leaf brackets, brakes, sway bar brackets) would work on either. In my searching, I found that the park cables on a 4dr are close enough in length to a reg cab truck that they could be used in the exchange. If it is a ext cab you might need different cables from a ex cab donor. Also the lines are a different length. The ones on the drum truck is a longer hard line that goes directly to the drum backplate. The disc hard lines are shorter and end a few inches away from the axle ends. There is also a small bracket at this point that holds the hard to flex line fitting in place. This can be overcome easily. The body flex line to the axle is in the same location. Since youre gonna need to bleed the brakes, get a kit of Earls Hyperfirm braided lines for the front and rear. It improved the overall pedal feel on my TA. Youre also gonna need to open the diff cover and pull the axles, so you know. Good time to evaluate gears and service the diff. Also check into a posi or l.slip if not equipped already. One shot upgrade is cheaper and more plesurable in the long run. =)
