I was wondering if anyone has tried air shocks to lift the back end of a 1993 4x4 Blazer? I remember back in the day everyone ran them to jack up the back of there cars to put fat tires on them. I don't see that anymore. The cars are now front wheel drive. I would like to here from someone that has airshocks. Do they ride hard?

Hard, and the taller you go the harder they will become. They will also put more strain on already weak shock mounts.

They will ride hard. Just make you some shackles to replace the factory ones.

Well I made up my mind.... I went with shackles.. I tried the highest first that was way to high then I dropped down one hole still to high so I have it in the lowest hole and it is just right. So I cut off the rest so you don't even see them. The ride is still good.
Now I just have to find the shocks that I want.
Anyone have any ideas let me know. I want the best ride on the road.

I have Bilstiens on my wife's 2002 Gmc Jimmy. To tell you the truth I realy don't like them. When I pull in and out of the driveway it bounces bad like they are bad.
But when you get it in the highway there are great.
But on brick roads and bad roads you have to go fast or you bounce all over the place.

The Bilstein's are the sport ride i'm willing to bet, common on the 2nd generation Blazers/Jimmys and they are stiff.
If you can find the bilstein HD's @ a desent price buy them you won't be disappointed

I would recomend trying some lift shackles to lift the back, they seem to do the job with-out changing the ride too much.

If your leafsprings are sagging and the rearend is too soft or bottoms out then go with some Add-A-Leafs.
