Well it looks like another manufacturer will have a muscle car "or pony car which ever you choose"before GM will.Dodge is almost ready to start final production on the new Dodge Charger. It will be Hemi powered with a possible 400hp or better in either SRT or R/T model form.A base V6 engine will be available but complete details are not final. It will probably have the same v6 as the Magnum will. It's supposed to offer a 5 speed auto and a 6 speed manual. There is rumor of the larger 6.1 liter Hemi engine in the works for it but wether it will have that engine or not is just a rumor.Below are some spy pics of the work horse cars. The car is gonna be on the same platform as the Magnum and the 300C.I have to say this because it is starting get at me bad.The cold shoulder GM is giving it's loyal followers is getting real old.Why is there not a GM RWD performance sedan available to compete with the Mustang.Imports even have sedans competing against the Mustang like the Mazda RX8,Honda S2000,and Nissan 350Z that perform very well.Nothing not even a glimpse that something is on the way.The GTO although a very nice car is not a car to compete in the same market. It is just way to high end.And pontiacs future goal is to make it their halo car like the vette is to chevrolet. That's why the 05 is getting the exact same 400hp LS2 as the C6 vette has.Not detuned like the Fbody always was.It kills me that we have no option at all.I am just now getting on my feet were I can actually purchase a new car off the lot.But what can I get.I like the GTO but not enough to dump the amount of cash it's priced at.I am keeping my TA for awhile but as fast as the car is it is still dated. It is not up to date with others in it's class.Yes I can smoke a 2004 MustangGT easily. But that is were the competition lead for the Fbody ends. The Mustang as bad as I hate to say it is built better and with better quality materials than the last Fbody was.I have a good friend who owns one and it is a very well built car.Yeah I can smoke him but am I the winner with a better built car,go look at the two and you decide. What I am basicly saying is my loyalty to GM is on it's last leg.And when this new Dodge Charger makes it to the dealership I am gonna give it a look see and a possible thought for purchase. As bad as it sounds ive also thought about looking at the new 05 MustangGT.I know how the 04 perfroms. But the 05 has 300hp and a new design that I must say is sharp as hell. Please don't stone me to death lol.Everyone here knows how serious of a Fbody man I am.So if im thinking of looking else were it's getting bad.Anyways here is the spy pics of the Charger. From what I can see it has a large amount in common with the Magnum which I really like.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=226&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=225&stc=1http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=224&stc=1

First off those spy pics look like the Magnum not the Charger. The Charger is a 2 door and has a more pointed nose, I've seen full pics of the 2006 Charger and there alot different. Second, I don't get why Mopar is using the Charger name? The Moper "pony" car in the 60's was the Cuda, the Charger was a full out Muscle car and it seams to much for them to scale it down to compete with the Mustang. Also with the front end of the new car being so pointed it looks more like a Superbird or Daytona. I'll wait till the 2007 Camaro and retro GTO comes out then deside wicth one to get.

The Charger is "supposed" to look like the Magnum because it uses the same platform. Just like the GTO and Holden.

The Moper "pony" car in the 60's was the Cuda,
are you positive about that?

The Magnum is a wagon if you look at the pics you can clearly see those are not wagons.I didn't say the old charger was a pony car I said Dodge is gonna use it against the Mustang. There are supposed to be more than one rear drive car coming out from Dodge on the Magnum/300C platform. And I still stand behind my statements of total discust with GM.

Those could be some new sedan version of the magnum.Which would be better looking to me than the wagon magnum.I would love to see a charger about the same lenght and width as the GTO/Mustang/Camaro.Here is the one Dodge showcased for Popular Hot Rodding.http://www.sicgmtrucks.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=246&stc=1

Yeah I dig it to but im pretty sure that they dropped that style for a more Magnum looking front end.I guess we won't know till the thing actually makes it to the light of day.I would say they will show it at the next big car expo or SEMA show. Those are usually where they show the concepts or cars going in to production.

Also look at the line right at the end of the back seat window.Kinda looks like a four door to me.Ya never know it could be a four door.
