I was wondering if anyone had any pics on their standard cab installations. Reason is, I was running 3 10's, now 2 12's. Just wanted to see what everone else was doing.
no pic, but a single JL 10 in a custom box

Middle of the page. Custom box, single 12" that hits very nicely for what I listen to (Death Metal, Black Metal, Industrial, etc.).

supercharged, is that enough airspace for your sub?For the way I've designed the enclosure and the other little tricks I've got going, yes, it is. A Kicker Impulse 12i is listed as needing 1.5 cubic ft -- I've got just over .9 in the enclosure. Box design principles. . . Smaller = more responsive ("punchier"), more power handling (and needed), less lower bass resonance. Larger = less responsive, lower power handling, more lower bass resonance ("boomier").
"Boomier" is for the stuff I DON'T listen to: R&B, Rap, etc. "Punchier" is for rock, metal, industrial, etc.
Also, with the right electronics, the decrease in lower bass resonance can be easily compensated for. A twist of a dial or two, and that 6dB drop-off I see at 30Hz is back on the flat line. O-scopes are a necessary tool for tuning any system, unless you've got a good ear for it.
Also, "boomy" is what carries, "punchy" is what you hear (and feel) inside the vehicle. I personally don't care what people OUTSIDE the truck hear -- I'm the one listening to it, so I want it to be INSIDE.
