View Full Version : Custom Fiberglass Box
Starting after Christmas break, Im gonna launch into my first serious fiberglass project. I am gonna build a box that will fit behind the seat of a standard cab 1st gen s-10, that will follow the angle of the seat up probably to the top of the seat. I am planning on it being able to hold 2 10" JL 10w3's. I am gonna make it be able to mount an amp in the middle. Included is a crude drawing of the shape of the bottom of the box. It will follow that contour up. I want to know what you guys think I should do. I was thinking of mounting a piece of 3/8ths either lexan or plexi (we have both in the glass shop i work in) so that you can see in the box and it would be about 1.5 inches around the amp. I was thinking of also putting a neon in it too. When I get this built, depending on the cost of parts, selling it for around 200, but for my fellow s-10 owners, i would knock it down to between 125 to 150 for a completly custom box. If i get someone really interested i could carpet it or paint it (paint will cost more though) So what i am really asking is this, should I do the plexi or not, and would anyone here be interested?
oh yeah, i will take pictures once I start so that way yall can see where im going with it, my pic is an incredibly rough sketch

I am going to be starting mine in the next 2 weeks.
its like a fiberglass box gang bang. I wish i had autocad. we had cad 2003 at my highschool, and i took 4 years of the program. it is so frustrating that i dont have it, because i could have an awesome 3-d rendering in color of what i want to do, but nope

I have to make mine hold 4 p1's, a 1 farad cap, 1200 watt and 900watt amps. Also a plexi glass rockford sign w/ a red neon behind it.
P1 get 2 p 3's or 2 mtx 8000 series. you wont be dissapointed

I already have 2 p1's. 600watts running to each of them. They are rated @ 300 max. Rockford underates their subs. I blast the hell out of them and they hold up. Besides if I blow them, I have a 4yr. warrentey that will replace them.
what kind of amp? and who edited my post when i said that p1's suck
