AC compressor question

I have a 87 2.8 auto blazer and my dad and brother both have 2.8 manual dimes, 93. Why does their ac compressor have an extra plug on the back on it. I didn't know if it was for something to do with the tranny's or not. I was wanting to pull the one out of my brothers old truck to replace mine since he's just gonna put a 350 in it but I didn't know it had extra crap ran to it.

not sure if his 93 has this but some vehicals have an auto ac were when the cab gets too hot the ac turns on????? i know my dad has that in his 06 and 07 silverodos

i think the 93 was a lil bit pre...i dont know...anything remotely computer sensible.

be careful when swithing between years with ac comps. gm changed the back of the compressor where the lines go in and they dont interchange easily and how you interchange them makes the connection undependable im just not sure which year they changed them in. when i get home i will look at my blazer and see if i can tell.
