Axles are all the same, doesn't matter disc or drum. It requires different brackets though. Be prepaired to spend about $200-400 for the conversion.

Well there are some differences in Axles. The 4x4 rear axles are wider than the two wheel drive axles. That could be good or bad depending on the look your after.

Sort of.....the Camaro used a park brake that engaged a part of the caliper. The S-series used a shoe type extra pads inside the rotor hat. As far as mounting, they should be the same. If you used a set from a 7.5/7.625 anyway. Pending thats your axle. I have the 8.5 on the s-series I have. It uses the 7.5 stuff as well. Since GM used basically 7.5 tubes, flared them at the 8.5 pumpkin and put them on it....kinda like a hybrid. Made assembly and s-series part swapping cheaper and easier.

Yup. Ironically a 4dr Jimmy or Blazer 2nd gen and a Reg. cab truck 2nd gen are close to the same length, so the e-brake cables will work. And those are real common. I got the stuff for mine from a 2000 or 2001 4dr Jimmy that was a rollover. Wasnt too hard but not a breeze either. 98* in the pull yard was exhausting! I have a set of DP front calipers but not the rest of the front setup. I think Im going to sell those and look for a upgrade that doesnt require spindle/hub replacement/removal. Aslo check out HammerHeads HydroBoost setup for extreme braking.

Yep, blazer, jimmy & bravada had them.. doesn't matter which. Like Mike said, I sell hydroboost kits for $550 to your door but 1st gens require a special bracket not included in the kit price.

I just worked on a customer's dime and he has the zr2 s.....his truck has dp calipers on it and disk back....he said he bought it from the dealer that way....if so can I get parts from a truck like his and put them on my x? would I still need to go bigger than 16" rims?

i think zr2's only had 15 or 16 inch rims so your stock ones should clear them.

Most late model 2nd gen 4dr Jimmys had DP front brakes. There are the 2wd and 4wd versions. If you have a 2wd, then a ZR2 isnt going to be the one youd likely get them off of. There is a set in the yard here on the 2000 Jimmy I got the rear disk setup off of. I was going to get it but, if I do it, I want to rebuild the calipers, put new bearing hubs on and get nice rotors. Too much for me right now. thanks noma...now all I need is money...hmmm or a dark colored suit and a mask....

really? I didnt know that...nor ever saw one. I remeber seeing where you can get the Z71s now in either 2 or 4wd. Like the Tahoes and Colorado/Canyons. Interesting info THX =)
