Where is the best place to pick up a tach signal for my aftermarket Tach. new to the 4.3 game.

did you have a tach stock? If so you already have a wire up to the gague area, if not you can look at the IP connector near the computer and there should be the tach wire there that you can extend to the gague that way you do not have to run any thing through the firewall

from the tach output of a MSD 6a ;)

By no means a stock vehicle! Found it in the Harness. The donor vehicle did not have a Tach. There is a white wire, just south of the ECU, in a white multi-pin connector, with no wire out the other end. This wire happens to be the tach.

Tach is read AC voltage and definately White on a 1st gen truck. Also is usually at the coil
