i found this on my front skid plate the larger part was sitting under the steering box there were also all the little balls all over some were on the top of the steering box
oh boy. if there were a bunch of little balls, ill be you dollars to doughnuts it is a bearing of some sort. lemme do some checking to tell you which bearing i think it is

Well those pics look like a door bushing to me but you would know if that's what they were.I would say that is a bearing of some sorts and I would start looking around the front end checking everything.Check the steering to see if there is any change in movement, play,or feeling to it.
humm.....I know i've seen one before, but I can't plase it. It looks like a peise of the trottle, but you said beirings all over the plase and i know your fuel injected.....so ypu got me. Are you sure it's not somthing you picked up on the road are a tool you left under the hood.
do you have a 4x4 because you said skid plate? if so have you put it in 4wheel lately

looks like an alternator bearing, kinda. does it have an air pump on it, maybe a belt tensioner pulley or idler pulley bearing.

no air pump i took off the belt and all the front assories seem fine. The car makes no ticking noises when running and seems to drive fine. I am just worried because i am going home from school in a few days and the trip is a few hndred miles. I found that part when i was starting to check over my car before the long drive
how's you hood latch look? any resitance popping the hood

That's some kind of bearing. Basic mentality if you don't notice anything weird when you put the truck through its paces then you picked it up on the road. Jus my 2cents.
