The remote to my Viper 771xv alarm crapped out, I bought a replacement but I have no idea how to program the new remote... the directions on the back are translated english from chinese translated from dutch, they're more confusing than not. Anyone know how to program the new Viper remote?!

Youll need to 1st start by locating your valet switch. This is the little black button that is on a siamesed 2-wires which goes to the blue port on the DEI alarm brain. This button couldve been installed in a certain location or they couldve left it under the dash secured with a zip-tie. This is what you use to put alarm in valet, override the alarm if its going nuts, program features or program a remote. **Start by opening the drivers door and leave open, **Next, turn the ignition on but dont start, **Then, select the channel you wish to program by pressing the valet button that number of times then press and hold 1 more time (**Note, unless you are good at this and want to re-configure each buttons functions to something other than what DEI assigned them to, select #1 which will auto-assign the buttons to default functions), So in this case you will tap the valet 1x and then a 2nd time holding it pressind in after the 2nd time until a chirp and LED blink are seen/heard 1x, **Next, for selection #1, press any transmitter button to marry that transmitter to your brain, **The alarm should chirp to confirm this as soon as you press the transmitter button, **Finally, release the valet button (you shouldve been holding it in during this whole process). Turn ignition off and try it out. If you are trying to learn each button or re-assign them induvidually it is much the same process but a little time consuming. I can walk you through that if needed. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more difficulties with it. Michel
