What triggers the light? The float in the tank or the gauge itself?

Float switches that Ive ever seen have a built in electrical switch so when its all one way, or in the middle the circuit is either complete or broked depending on the wiring method.
the fact that you dont keep it at the top! it costs the same to keep it on the top of the tank than it does to run it on "e"

i notice my gauge doesnt read properly after refueling until i restart the truck...it will gradually go up...but very slowly...kinda nice having a truck that makes its own gas!

yall think yall got problems my float is so screwed up even if i fill the thing up it wont read right. im havin even more problems cause i really cant tell what kinda gas mileage im gettin so im runnin outta gas at random times. the only reason this is bad is because i rarely have enough money to fill the thing all the way up. anyone want to let me know bout how much to the gallon their gettin?
