tha spray paint that you use to paint calipers, does it harm piston seals?

it might eat through the seal. It depends on the type of paint. If it does not eat through the seals it will cause problems with the seals sealing

i cleaned off the piston seals with paint thinner cause a guy at work told me it does not harm rubber and they came all clean with some scrubbing from an old toothbrush

careful with the paint thinner..miner oils and thinners might contain Abrassive and corrosive chemicals such as any solvents like MEK,PPK, or any other rubber/plastic eating components like Ether, Ethanol, and any alchohols..Propanol,Ethanol..etc etc.
