I hate looking at it under my hood. I know the second gens mount it to the gas tank cross member. So here is the question, can I move mine under my bed without any problem? I don't know if the purge solenoid will still work properly.

I don't see why you couldn't. It should still operate the same way. If you move it under the bed or something like that it'll still be at about the same height it is now on the truck.. right?

Should be close to the same height. Under my bed I could mount it on top of the rear most part of the frame. I would delete it but have already be warned not to in DE.

Deleted mine on the TA a long time ago. Relocate it should be fine. How many hoses go to it and does yours have the solenoid on it?

It's the 2 hose one. 1 from the tank and the other to the engine. It also has a 2 pin weather pack connector so I assume that is for the solenoid.

Yup..thast the solenoid. My TA had 2 hoses of..maybe 1/2in size...cant remebber ecactly...which were tank and motor like yours, but also had a 3rd smaller hose. Ill have to RTFM to refresh. I would just cut the line from the tank at the back and put it there, then extend the other hose and solenoit wires. Dont see why not. Are you going to use your canister or try to reto the newer one?

All depends how bad mine is. I think I'll stay with a stock replacement if needed.

I checked mine out a little but didnt have time to scrutinize it too much. Its a rectangle box above the rear axle on the left side. Looks like a paint thinner can size. 3 hoses come out of the inner side. One shoots to the front and above the gas tank.....its about a 3/8 or so rubber line. One curves back toward the frame and goes to a solenoid which has a 2-pin weatherpak plug...its also about a 3/8 rubber line. The last one is a smaller diameter plastic tube that goes forward and to the frame rail. Best I can tell, it runs parallel with the fuel line to the engine. Now, under the hood I noticed on the emissions tag ( on the radiator support and has the pcv,etc info ) there is a part on the manifold (right rear) that says 'to evap.' . Looking at it, its a 2-pin weatherpack solenoid mounted to the manifold and has a tube that comes out, goes to the firewall and then shoots over to the drivers side. After that I need to do some digging.
